In this version of the task, the contestants are given a strict time limit, rather than the length of time it takes for the sand to leave the initial bucket. Also, a few of the items provided are different.

Task brief

The task brief is in Pilvi’s possession in the lab. The brief for the task is as follows:

Move the sand from one bucket to the other.

You may not touch the sand with your hands.

The buckets may not be moved.

Whoever gets the most sand from one bucket to the other wins.

You have 19 minutes.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

Bucket ‘A’ is hanging from the ceiling of the lab, and is full of sand, but has a small hole in the bottom, which is temporarily plugged with a wooden peg.
As soon as the contestants enter the lab, Pilvi positions them beneath bucket ‘A’ and secures one of their wrists with a zip-tie attached to the peg covering the hole.
The table in the lab is positioned along the right-hand wall (from the point of view of the camera), just out of easy reach for the contestants.
On the table, there is a coconut, a wooden spoon, four egg-cups, two flip-flops, a colander, two rolls of toilet paper, a wooden spatula, an ash shovel meant for wood-burning stoves, a broom, and a tuura.
On the floor near the table, there is an empty bucket labelled ‘B’.
