Attempts
Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!
- Janne fills a bin with water and places it in the garden. He then boils the egg in the microwave. He first tests dropping the egg while standing directly above the bin, to see if the boiling had made the egg any harder. He then drops the egg into the bin from a second floor window, but it hits the side of the bin and cracks. His initial attempt was counted, however, giving him a height of 76 centimetres.
- Jenni lays some bedding down on the ground, wraps the egg in a flannel shirt, and drops it from a second floor window. The egg remains intact, so she tries dropping it from a ladder which is slightly higher than the second floor window. Her best attempt is measured as having a height of 4 metres and 65 centimetres.
- Jorma spins the egg to see if it is boiled, but gets confused about how to interpret the results of this test, and so assumes that it is boiled when it is not. He proceeds to drop the egg from the top of the steps, expecting it to bounce, for some reason. It hits the first step and does not crack, but then rolls onto the second step, and cracks on impact. Because his only attempt results in the egg cracking, he is recorded as having achieved a height of zero metres.
- Jukka wraps the egg in sheets and stuffs it inside of a pillow. He then attached this package to the rope on a flag pole, and raises it to the top. He lets go of the rope, dropping the egg to the ground from a height of 9 metres without cracking it.
- Roni places the egg in a paper cup, using paper to keep the egg immobile and cushioned within. He then wraps the cup tightly in paper, cling-film, and aluminium foil. He drops the package into a bucket of water from a height of 2 metres and 23 centimetres.
