Attempts

Here's a brief description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on writing up some additional detail, though!

  • Alice attached the wooden spoon to a bunch of helium balloons, and then burst some of the balloons using a staple gun and darts, to get the spoon down.
  • Asim attached the wooden spoon to several helium balloons, which he began to burst with a dart attached to a stick, but the spoon ended up falling from the balloons.
  • Liza made a parachute out of a black bin bag, which glided the wooden spoon down over a scene featuring two Action Men covered in blood (tomato ketchup), holding a sparkler.
  • Russell taped a carrier bag to the top of the wooden spoon, but it dropped straight down when released, instead of gliding.
  • Tim made a parachute using flipchart paper and attached it to the spoon with string. As the spoon fell, he pretended to be in a war film, referring to the wooden spoon as 'Sarge'.
