Task brief

The task brief is laid on top of a water dispenser being held by Olli in the living room. The brief for the task is as follows:

Move the juice from Olli's container into the container on the table.

You cannot touch or move either of the containers or Olli.

Most juice in the container wins.

The task starts now.

Task notes

  • The task takes place in the living room, where Olli is stood on a coffee table, immediately in front of the sliding doors through which the contestants arrive, holding a glass water dispenser full of green fluid.
  • The dispenser has a small tap on its front.
  • A very large glass measuring cylinder is stood on a small, wheeled table, on the other side of the room.
  • As soon as the contestants have read the task brief, Olli opens the tap on the water-dispenser, letting the fluid within spill onto the floor.

Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Upon entering the room and discovering Olli standing right in front of the doors, Vidar crouches down and sticks his face between Olli's knees. After Olli opens up the tap on the water dispenser, Vidar panics for a while, and then grabs the wheeled cart on which the measuring cylinder is standing, and pulls it over so that the fluid is pouring directly into where it needs to go. He initially believes that he has not moved the container by doing this, but then realises that he actually has. He is therefore disqualified from the task.
  • When Olli opens up the tap on the water dispenser, Karin panics and screams "No!" several times. She finds a small trophy cup nearby, and uses that to catch the fluid and transport it to the measuring cylinder. At the end of her attempt, she finds a piece of red fabric and uses that to mop up some of the fluid from the rug, before ringing it out over the measuring cylinder. She manages to transfer 24 decilitres of fluid, and secures second place.
  • When Olli opens up the tap on the water dispenser, Leo says "Fuck you, man!". He quickly pulls the plant out of a nearby plant pot and uses that to catch the fluid, though it is slightly leaky. He leaves the plant pot on the floor to catch the fluid, and then switches it with a small glass vase, when it is time to empty it into the measuring cylinder. At one point, while refilling the vase, he suggests he could have used his mouth to catch and transport the fluid, but had decided that would look "completely wrong". At the end of his attempt, he uses paper towel to soak up the fluid spilled on the wheeled cart, and then rings that out over the measuring cylinder. Having successfully transferred 47 decilitres of the fluid, Leo earns first place in the task.
  • Hani grabs a nearby container that appears to contain ashes, and uses that to catch the fluid, before running over and pouring it into the measuring cylinder. As she is refilling the ash container, she re-reads the task brief and decides that turning the tap off would not be 'moving' the container (apparently missing the fact that she is also not allowed to 'touch' it). She therefore turns off the tap, and is able to take a much more leisurely approach to transporting the water by only turning it back on when she is refilling her container. However, she is disqualified from the task for touching the container.
  • Upon entering the room and discovering Olli standing right in front of the doors, Lars crouches down and inserts his head between Olli's ankles, turning to look up at him. When Olli opens up the tap on the water dispenser, Lars decides to use his own mouth as a vessel for catching and transporting the fluid. He also tries to catch and carry some of it in his bare hands, but then ends up throwing that fluid onto his head, for some reason. He then takes off his sweatshirt and tries to use that to catch some of the fluid. At the end of his attempt, he acknowledges that he hadn't actually been able to transfer much of the fluid. However, since two other contestants are disqualified, Lars earns third place with his 9 decilitres of fluid.
