Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Images will be added later.

  • Eija brings in a framed certificate that declares her the ‘Kellokoskian of the Year’ for 2009. Kellokoski is a small village, north of Helsinki. Jaakko awards Eija first place.
  • Kalle brings a Seattle Seahawks 12th Man flag from 2014 – the year the team won the Superbowl. He had managed to get the flag signed by three of the players on the team. It is unclear if he was present at the actual Superbowl, or just one of the regular season games of that year. Jaakko awards Kalle fourth place.
  • Fathi brings an entry ticket to a nightclub called Mix, located in Faliraki, Greece. Pilvi says that Fathi claims the ticket can induce jealousy, because it’s indicative that he can afford vacations. Jaakko awards Fathi last place.
  • Paleface brings in a copy of a vinyl record from 1981 of aerobic music, called Carol Hensel’s Exercise & Dance Program, Volume 2. No further commentary is provided as to why this specific album would inspire jealousy. Jaakko awards Paleface third place.
  • Pirjo brings in a letter supposedly written to her by a fan. Pilvi says that, according to Pirjo, a large amount of jealousy will always be sparked when someone has to witness someone else receiving fan mail. Notably, the fan letter is from Sanna Marin, the then current Prime Minister of Finland (in April 2023, she conceded defeat to her centre-right rivals, the National Coalition, led by Petteri Orpo, in the 2023 Finnish parliamentary election). The translated letter reads: “Hey, Pirjo!! I have admired you for a long time, since 1998, at the Orimattila [southern town which was home to the season 1 contestant Roni Back] summer theatre. Your talent is beyond comprehension! Petteri Orpo is of the same opinion. Come visit us at the government [word unclear] at some point, let’s hang out!!! I could arrange fun activities like a magician, a talk show, light soup/salad buffet, and music. Just say a date that works. Regards, Sanna Marin, Prime Minister.” After Jaakko pushes a little, it’s clear that Pirjo has forged the letter, though she never actually admits to it. Jaakko awards Pirjo second place.
