Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Images will be added later.

  • Erin looks through the basket and picks up one of the tennis balls, declaring that she should just give the ball to the dog. She eventually starts to use the craft materials to build a toy, but the edit carefully does not show any of her progress; instead, it focuses on Erin admitting that she’s terrible at arts and crafts. When Erin’s toy is finally revealed, it is an amalgamation of most of the craft materials tied together: a large puff ball with a few tennis balls and small tubes tied to it. During the testing phase for the toy, Humppa sniffs briefly at it before ignoring it entirely. Jaakko awards Erin third place.
  • Kalle looks through the materials in the basket, declaring that it contains “all sorts of stuff, yet nothing at all”. He heads to the kitchen and searches the refrigerator, pulling out some venison rolls. He returns to the table with one of the venison rolls and wraps it in cloth, attaching a tennis ball to each end and tying some ribbon around the centre. Kalle calls his creation “surgery that’s gone wrong” - likely due to the presence of another venison roll attached to the centre of the toy, which makes the whole thing look somewhat phallic. During the testing phase for the toy, Humppa, likely drawn in by the smell of the venison, sniffs and paws at the toy before beginning to chew on it. Jaakko awards Kalle first place.
  • Pirjo picks up a tennis ball from the basket, asking if she can just rub food all over it and present it to the dog. She searches the refrigerator and pulls out a tube of mayonnaise, wondering if the dog would like it. She ultimately covers the tennis ball in mayonnaise and fish sauce. When Pilvi asks if the toy has a name, Pirjo eventually manages to dub it “Bobbles”. However, Pirjo’s toy is never actually presented to Humppa, as mayonnaise can cause gastrointestinal issues in dogs. Jaakko awards Pirjo joint last place, with no points.
  • Eija empties all of the supplies onto the table, and ties some cloth to a tennis ball. She tells Pilvi that her mouth is the same size as Eija’s dog’s mouth, and that she will need to use Pilvi’s mouth to help measure her creation. Eija checks to see if Pilvi is able to hold a tennis ball in her teeth, and is happy when Pilvi is able to do so. Eija’s final toy is a rolled-up piece of purple cloth, with a tennis ball tied to either end. Attached to each tennis ball are a few strips of cloth with small corks attached to them. During the testing phase for the toy, Humppa takes his time sniffing around it, but does not actually play with it. Jaakko awards Eija second place.
  • Fathi immediately goes to the kitchen and starts searching the refrigerator, eventually finding some cream cheese. He returns to the table and begins liberally spreading the cream cheese all over some cloth that he has tied to some small tubes. He eventually shapes it into a vaguely dog-looking statue, declaring his creation to be “the future of dog toys”. However, Fathi’s toy is never actually presented to Humppa as, while cream cheese is safe for dogs to eat in small quantities, Fathi’s toy was absolutely covered in it. Jaakko awards Fathi joint last place, with no points.
