Task brief

The task brief is found on the steps outside the main entrance of the Suurmestari mansion. The brief for the task is as follows:

Put as many items into your pockets as possible.

You may not put multiple identical items into your pockets.

The one to put the most amount of items into their pockets wins.

You have five minutes.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

  • This task bears some similarities to Bäst i Test’s ‘Fill your trousers’ task, which was likely inspired by a task in one of the Taskmaster books, which itself is based on an activity that Alex Horne and Tim Key engaged in one afternoon for their own entertainment.

Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Images will be added later.

  • Eija hands the task brief back to Pilvi and heads back into the mansion, ending up in the kitchen. While Eija does not appear to have any pockets on her trousers, the long cardigan she is wearing does have deep pockets. Even though it’s bulky, Eija puts a fire blanket in one of her pockets, stating that “it’s always nice to have at hand”. She then discovers a ‘horde’ of items in a drawer, and proceeds to stuff both cardigan pockets until they are overflowing with assorted kitchen items. She manages to pocket 25 items with no repeats, and earns second place.
  • Fathi immediately heads to the kitchen, reasoning that it is likely to hold many small items. He lays out a collection of different utensils on one of the counters, making sure that they are all unique before putting them into his jacket breast pocket. He continues shoving various kitchen utensils into the many pockets of his jeans, including a small roll of bin bags (which are later determined to be identical items, rather than a single object). Fathi manages to pocket 40 items, including the bin bags. He initially earns joint fourth place but, when he attempts to argue that he pocketed a roll of bin bags, rather than multiple individual bags, Jaakko knocks him down to last place.
  • Kalle starts immediately, picking up an individual leaf and a pebble from the ground. He eventually makes his way to the shed, jokingly telling Pilvi that he was regretting not wearing his Hammer pants that day. While the shed is mostly filled with large objects, Kalle gets the idea to open the toolbox stored in the shed, and starts loading his pockets with the tools within. He manages to pocket 43 items with no repeats, and earns first place.
  • Pirjo runs to the shed to find some items. Unfortunately, most of the things in the shed are too large for Pirjo’s trouser pockets. In desperation, she shoves a bowling pin into one of her pockets, as well as a length of chain, which mostly just drags along behind her. Pirjo manages to pocket 24 items with no repeats, and earns third place.
  • Ali runs to the shed to find some items. This is unfortunate, as the shed is mostly filled with large items which are too big for pockets. However, Ali is able to fit some unseen items in his jean pockets, as well as in the large pocket of the hoodie he is wearing. Unfortunately, one of the items Ali puts into his pockets is a bag full of wooden beads. In the studio, Ali tries to argue that the beads are not at all identical, and that every wooden bead is in fact different from every other wooden bead. It is reveals that he’d managed to pocket 320 items altogether – 244 of which were the wooden beads – but that many of the other items were also duplicates. Ali earns fourth place. Once again, he attempts to suck up to Jaakko, after the scoring, for more bonus points. This time, however, Jaakko decides that he is annoyed by the behaviour, and so he deducts two of the previously awarded bonus points from Ali’s total.

Notes on task scores

  • For pushing his luck by continuing to suck up to the Taskmaster, Jaakko deducts 2 points from Ali at the end of this task, thus invalidating 2 of the bonus points he'd awarded Ali in previous tasks in the episode.
