Mastertask notes:
In this live version of the task, the contestants take it in turns to throw large, soft, white candy fish into the fishbowl, while naming the strongest animals they can think of. If they land one of their throws, they have chosen their animal, and sit out the remaining rounds. After a couple of rounds, the distance that the remaining contestants must throw the fish is reduced until they can basically reach out and touch the bowl.

Task brief

The actual text of the task brief is not known. The text below is paraphrased based on information disclosed in the episode:

Step up to the line, name a strong animal, and throw a candy fish into the fishbowl.

If your throw is successful, you may sit down.

If your throw misses, you must try again.

Animals may not be repeated.

Strongest animal wins.

Task notes

  • All five contestants stand in front of two parallel lines on the stage (the first is orange, and the second is pink).
  • On a plinth on the lower part of the stage where the contestants usually sit is an empty fishbowl.
  • On a table next to the contestants is a table filled with large, soft, white candy fish (perhaps these ‘Flipper’ brand foam candy dolphins?).
  • For the first two rounds, everyone throws the fish from the first (orange) line.
  • In the third round, Olli tells the contestants to start throwing from the second (pink) line, which is closer to the bowl.
  • In the fourth round, so that the game can end, Olli instructs the contestants to throw from the very edge of the stage, from where they can basically reach out and drop the fish into the fishbowl.
