The brief for the task is as follows:
Mime the proverb on your card.
There will be three minute-long rounds.
You must be waving at each other throughout your attempt, but you can make a single noise of the Taskmaster’s choosing.
Task notes
- The contestants are all stood on stage in their teams, but must perform their mimes while standing next to the opposing team, to ensure their own team-mates cannot read their cards.
- Alex clarifies that the mimers must also be waving, and that they are not allowed to pass.
- Although there are clear similarities between this task and the ‘Act out nursery rhymes’ task from series 11, there are also enough differences (proverbs instead of nursery rhymes; miming to team-mates instead of Greg; having to wave throughout; the fact that the time is split up into rounds; and the optional extra of using a sound of Greg’s choice) that we have categorised it as original here. The waving element is reminiscent of the ‘Do something impressive under the table while waving’ task, also from series 11.
