The task brief is laid on the table in the lab. The brief for the task is as follows:
Work out the contents of these bags.
You may not open the bags.
You can ask Markl to make one tiny hole in each bag and have 5 minutes examination time, during which you must eat at least one big spoonful from each bag.
Or, you can ask Markl to put all the contents of the bags in the blender for 1 minute and have 10 minutes examination time, during which eating is optional.
Task notes
- Also on the table, there are five different-coloured small plastic bags, each with a different blend of food inside.
- From the contestant’s perspective, while standing at the table, from left to right: the first bag contains mayonnaise and squid; the second bag contains peanut butter and puffed rice; the third bag contains chocolate and kale/cabbage; the fourth bag contains caramel and granola; and the fifth bag contains condensed milk and sweet and sour sauce.
- Vasco ultimately decides to award an actual point per successfully-identified flavour, meaning a potential maximum of 10 points.
