Task brief

The brief for the task is as follows:

Bounce a ball on the bar.

In round one, your ball must bounce once before falling off the bar.

In round two, your ball must bounce twice before falling off the bar, and so on.

Each player has one life.

Most correct bounces wins.

Task notes

  • The contestants are lined up side-by-side on the right-hand side of the stage, while Alex is stood on the left-hand side, next to a wooden bench.
  • Stretching from the front centre of the stage across onto the cast seating area, there is a long wooden bar (which series director Andy Devonshire confirmed is the same one used in series 9’s ‘Slide drinks to the Taskmaster’ task, albeit with different legs).
  • Next to the start of the bar, there is a plinth on top of which there’s a transparent tub containing blue and yellow rubber bouncy balls.
  • As each contestant uses up their ‘life’ by failing to achieve the correct number of bounces, Alex picks up a large cardboard cut-out of their faces as a visual representation, which he then places in front of where they are standing, if they do not eliminate themselves.
  • Eliminated contestants move to sit on a bench on the left-hand side of the stage, holding their respective cut-outs.
