Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Inês stole a stool from her parents' house. The stool is meant for her young nephews to use to be able to climb onto the toilet, but instead, she uses it as a Squatty Potty. Vasco awards her fourth place.
  • Gilmário brings in a spare car key. He says that he took it accidentally, and did not realise he had kept the key in his jacket pocket, and since he had already sworn to the key’s owner that he had not taken it, he couldn’t return it, as he believes his friend will declare their friendship over once he finds out Gilmário did in fact have the key. When pressed, Gilmário reveals that the friend had lectured his wife and kids about personal property, and the missing key had even caused a temporary rift between the friend and the friend’s brother. Vasco awards him fifth place, because by Gilmário’s own admission, the friend had a spare key.
  • Jessica brings in a pair of star earrings. She says that she was trying on earrings at a friend’s house during a dinner party, and accidentally left while still wearing them. The next time she met up with the friend, she happened to be wearing the star earrings, and the friend commented that she used to have similar earrings that were a gift from her boyfriend, but she had lost them. Jessica was too embarrassed to return the earrings, so just kept them – but then reveals that she is no longer friends with the woman, so does not care if the woman finds out now. Vasco awards her second place.
  • Toy brings in a completed sticker album from the 1966 World Cup. Toy told the owner of the album that he was friends with Eusebio da Silva Ferreira (often considered the MVP of that year’s World Cup) and wanted to bring him the album (to either show him or get it autographed), and just kept it. Vasco awards him third place.
  • António brings in a wallet. He explains that he was at a dinner party, and accidentally took someone else’s wallet, as it was identical to his own. He reveals that he did eventually tell the person about the mix-up, but it was after the person had already gone through the hassle of cancelling their credit cards and being issued new ones. Vasco agrees with the annoyance of dealing with cancelling credit card accounts, and awards António first place.
