• Eija grabs the glass and toothbrush, and offers Pilvi her choice of tap- or salt-water for gargling, after she brushes. When Pilvi delegates the choice to Eija, Eija decides on tap water, and runs to the house. She soon returns with a dish scrubbing brush with a hole in the handle. She jams the toothbrush into the handle of the brush, and applies toothpaste to the toothbrush. She then stands as far from Pilvi as she can, leans over (using Pilvi to keep herself balanced), and starts to brush Pilvi’s teeth. She manages to brush Pilvi’s teeth from a distance of 32 centimetres – 19 centimetres of which was the toothbrush itself – and comes fourth.
• Kalle goes to the shed to search for building materials. He gaffer-tapes a long pipe, a short pipe, and a hockey stick together, then gaffer-tapes the toothbrush to the end of the hockey stick. He stands as far away from Pilvi as he can, and slowly brushes her teeth, although it takes him quite a while to find the correct angle, and his contraption starts to fall apart near the end. Kalle brushes Pilvi’s teeth from a distance of 5 metres and 46 centimetres, and he comes second.
• Pirjo searches the shed for building materials, and finds a long plank of wood and a pipe. She gaffer-tapes the toothbrush to the wood, and then extends the contraption’s length further by gaffer-taping the pipe onto it. She stands as far from Pilvi as she can, and holds her heavy contraption steady, encouraging Pilvi to bob her head back and forth while the toothbrush is in her mouth, as it is likely safer than her thrusting the heavy device towards Pilvi’s head. This has the unfortunate side-effect of making it appear as if Pilvi is performing oral sex on the toothbrush. Pirjo brushes Pilvi’s teeth from a distance of 3 metres and 32 centimetres, and she comes third.
• Fathi runs to the shed and initially starts pulling out long items. However, he soon abandons that idea when he finds an electric fan. He removes the protective grill from the front of the fan, and brings it back to Pilvi. While cutting the toothbrush down to attach it to the centre of the fan, Fathi informs Pilvi that some of the best advice he’s heard about oral hygiene was that blood should be spilled when teeth are brushed (this is patently untrue!). Fathi sets Pilvi up at a table in one of the rooms of the mansion, and turns his fan-powered toothbrush on. When it is relatively safely positioned in Pilvi’s mouth, Fathi runs out of the mansion and as far away as time allows. Fathi brushes Pilvi’s teeth from a distance of 450 metres, and he wins the task.
• Krisse takes the toothbrush (to which she has already applied toothpaste, off-camera) and glass, and has Pilvi follow her to the front of the mansion. She hands Pilvi the toothbrush, but keeps hold of the glass (her reasoning is that holding the glass means she’s sharing in the experience), and runs down the driveway from the mansion, calling back to Pilvi every once in a while to check if she can still be heard and understood. From some distance away, Krisse then instructs Pilvi to start brushing her teeth, which Pilvi does. Pilvi brushes her teeth while Krisse is 150 metres away, which would have earned her second place, but Jaakko intervenes and declares that Krisse herself had not actually brushed Pilvi’s teeth. Krisse is therefore relegated to last place but, when she argues about this placement, Jaakko disqualifies her in retaliation.
