The contestants enter the lab and must reach down into a magician's hat to retrieve the task brief from a cloth bag suspended through a hole cut into the table. The brief for the task is as follows:
Do magic.
You cannot use editing trickery.
Most magical magic wins.
You have 40 minutes.
Your time starts now.

- The table is covered with red velvet, and there is also a magician's wand next to the hat.
