Task brief
The task brief is laid on top of a stack of poppadoms, which are on a red plate, under a cloche, on the table in the lab. The brief for the task is as follows:
Eat these poppadoms.
After each mouthful, you must lose a letter of the alphabet from your vocabulary.
Then either compliment Greg, or insult Alex.
Your insults and compliments must all be different.
If you use a lost letter at any time, 10g will be added to your final poppadom weight.
Most poppadoms eaten wins.
You have a maximum of 10 minutes.
Your time starts when Alex blows his whistle.
Task notes
- Also on the table, there are a series of wooden tiles, each with a letter of the alphabet upon it, and a stemmed dessert glass, into which the contestants must drop the wooden tiles bearing the letters they are willing to lose, after each mouthful.
- A chair is provided at the rear side of the table, for the contestants to sit at.
- Alex removes the cloche for the contestants, revealing the task brief and poppadoms beneath.
- Suspended beneath the table, there is a fully-loaded revolving stainless steel chutney and pickle serving dish, to accompany the poppadoms.
