In this version of the task, the contestants must make small talk with a Finnish man, in person. The scoring is not necessarily based on the best demonstration of use of the language, but on the quality of the small talk.

The task brief is laid on the table in the lab. The brief for the task is as follows:
In 15 minutes, you will make small talk with Kauko.
He only knows Finnish.
You can use the dictionary and iPad until he arrives.
The best small talk in Finnish wins.

- Also on the table, there is a pen and notepad, an iPad in an ornate frame case, and a Norwegian/Finnish dictionary.
- Kauko is the one who decides the contestants’ scores.
