Task brief

The task brief is in David’s possession, on the porch. The brief for the task is as follows:

Treat the ladies to coffee.

You may not break the rope.

You may not let go of the coffee cup.

You have 10 minutes.

Your time starts now.

Kerstin and Lena – who previously appeared during the ‘Create a self-celebrating museum’ task in season 7 – are seated at a table on the porch.
On the driveway, there are two round picnic tables, a step-ladder, and a tandem bicycle.
A length of rope has been strung through the handle of the coffee mug, and through the above-listed obstacles, as well as the caravan and the shed.
There is a hand-powered coffee grinder on a plinth next to the porch, a tin of coffee beans in the caravan, some coffee filters in the shed, and a Thermos flask full of hot water chained to a plinth on the porch.
While not overtly stated in the brief, only the coffee beans and the hot water are strictly necessary to complete the task. This is exploited by at least one of the contestants.
In addition to the wordplay of ‘kafferep’ (literally ‘coffee rope’ – a gathering of women with coffee and cookies), this task may have been inspired in part by the ‘Figure out what you’ve caught’ task.
