Task notes

  • On the nearby flagpole is an arrow pointing to the button, which reads ‘DRAMAKNAPP’ [‘drama button’].
  • To score the task, Babben brings in an expert in the form of the Brazilian/Swedish scriptwriter and director, Edward af Sillen (who has translated many dramas into Swedish).

Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Marko returns to the drama button wearing a striped bathrobe, with his knuckles covered in gaffer tape, and carrying a rug. He declares to David that the two of them will create drama together on the mat: whoever steps off of the mat or surrenders is the loser. Marko shrugs off his robe for dramatic effect. While Eye of the Tiger plays in the background, David and Marko compete in a wrestling match. Marko pins David off of the mat in under three seconds, and is awarded last place.
  • David hits the drama button, and Lacrimosa by Mozart begins playing. Linnéa opens a task, reads it, and starts to scream. David starts a leaf-blower up, and starts blowing water and leaves at the sobbing Linnéa, whose reactions are shot in slow-motion. Under the assault of the leaves, she begins to bleed from the mouth (we are shown her picking up a bottle of fake blood from the table and squirting it into her mouth). As David counts down her final seconds, Linnéa slowly collapses to the ground, dead. Linnéa is awarded third place.
  • Henrik moves the scene to just outside the caravan, where he’s gathered a megaphone, several hula hoops, a plethora of rubber ducks, a bicycle, a large teddy bear, and a red circular mat. Henrik himself has donned a life preserver and a cowboy hat, and he holds a bicycle horn. David hits the drama button, and Henrik begins complaining that David was supposed to enter from the opposite side of the button, and that time shouldn’t have started yet because David ruined the beginning of Henrik’s attempt. Henrik continues to yell at David, while David attempts to placate him, claiming this is all just supposed to be silly fun. Henrik disagrees, and slams his fist on the drama button before kicking it over, and pushing one of the cameramen away. He storms back into the house, complaining that his scene was going to be very dramatic and involve a stunt on the bicycle. Henrik is awarded fourth place.
  • Nikki dresses in a safety vest and helmet, and carries a traffic cones and a garden sprayer. She and David go to a nearby road, where David hits the drama button. Nikki stops traffic with a cone, and proceeds to spray water on the road as the stopped cars line up. To her credit, Nikki continues spraying for the full 30 seconds, despite a line of cars honking at her to leave. Nikki is awarded second place.
  • Edvin decides to create drama with his mother (the famous opera singer, Marianne Eklof), with the help of a soundboard he has created on his laptop. Edvin intends to call his mother to pretend that he’s been arrested and thrown into prison. David hits the drama button, and Marianne answers Edvin’s call. An automated voice (from Edvin’s soundboard) informs Marianne that the call is from the Kronoberg (southern Sweden) detention centre. Edvin gets on the phone and, in a teary voice, informs his mother that he was hit by a car. Marianne, clearly worried, nevertheless tells Edvin to calm down. Edvin’s time runs out and he has to disconnect the call. He informs David that he will immediately text his mother to clear up the situation. In the studio, Edvin admits that his mother is still angry about what he did. Edvin is awarded first place.
