Task brief

The task brief is laid on the seat of a mobility scooter, on the driveway of the Bäst i Test house, near the shed. The brief for the task is as follows:

Reinvent the wheel.

Place something on this mobility scooter which isn’t a wheel.

Then drive the mobility scooter over the finish line.

Fastest to cross the finish line wins.

You have 30 minutes.

Task notes

The three-wheeled mobility scooter is missing one of its rear wheels, rendering it undriveable. It is parked on a black mat, on the gravel driveway, just behind a chequerboard-patterned strip which marks the start line of the course.
The course is defined using red rope, and is straight, except for a dog-leg in the middle.
There are also obstacles on the course to avoid or overcome, in the form of two oil drums (with rubber ducks on top of them), and a low ramp.
At the end of the course, there is another chequerboard-patterned strip, designating the finish line.
The mobility scooter has been decorated with imitation flowers on the steering column, a fluffy pink cover and fluffy pink dice on the handlebars, and a bright pink zebra-print throw draped over the seat, in addition to a number of stickers with various designs.
