Attempts
Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Images will be added later.
- Nikki searches the shed, telling David that her interpretation of ‘spectacular’ involves fireworks and flames. She is disappointed to not find any fireworks, but does emerge with a box of matches. Her plan is to set the task brief on fire, then jump on it with a pogo stick. As Nikki does not seem to use any lighter fluid on the task, she quickly runs into the same problem every time she attempts to destroy the task: the wind from the pogo-ing puts out the weak fire. Nikki eventually abandons the pogo stick (though it has left quite a large hole in the task), sets the task brief on fire, then blasts a pressurised hose at the task while David holds it, causing the paper to shred into several pieces. Nikki earns last place.
- Henrik tells David that he plans on turning the task brief into an art piece, as he searches the shed for materials. He draws a picture of David’s face on the paper, and begins painting it. It soon becomes evident that the paint is not thick enough to cover the text on the task brief, and the words remain legible. Henrik continues to paint David onto the task brief, adding thicker layers of paint each time. He dries the paint with a hairdryer and, in his remaining minute, sticks the task brief into a frame, runs into the house, and places it on top of the piano. He immediately begins playing a slow song on the piano, pretending to be calm and collected when David enters the room and counts down his final few seconds. Henrik earns fourth place.
- Evelyn runs to the shed and sets up a table with a blender and other ingredients. She addresses the camera, introducing her new show: ‘Bäst i Test Kitchen’. She informs her viewers that the episode will focus on making refreshing popsicles (which David quickly dubs “testsicles”). Evelyn assures her viewers that the recipe is easy, as they can be made with anything around the house. Her popsicles are made by blending together a princess cake (‘prinsesstarta’), yoghurt, ketchup, a side salad left over from that day’s lunch, and sparkling water. It is only when she begins pouring the mixture into the popsicle moulds that she realises that she has neglected to add the task brief itself, as the most important ingredient. She quickly tears out the part of the task brief which has text on it, blends it into the mixture, and pours this into the popsicle moulds. As her time runs out, Evelyn runs inside the house with the popsicle moulds and puts them into the freezer. David presents Evelyn’s popsicles in the studio, and offers one to Babben. While she declines, Henrik, Linnéa, and Evelyn all try one (as does David himself). Evelyn earns third place.
- After reading the task brief, Marko immediately declares to David that he has an idea. He cuts the brief into confetti, thus making it unreadable. The footage then immediately cuts to show Marko and David dressed in ‘spectacular’ outfits: Marko is wearing a mullet wig and holding a rake he has fashioned into a microphone, while David wears a short blonde wig and a gold sequined tube top which has been generously stuffed. Marko informs David of his plan: he will sing half a verse of his song Millennium 2, and David will be one of his chorus dancers, who will have the task confetti thrown onto him. Marko begins to sing, but missteps and falls on the stage, spilling the confetti from the fez which contained it. Undeterred, Marko stands back up and continues singing while David unenthusiastically twerks. Marko earns second place.
- Linnéa sits in the caravan for some time, clearly struggling to come up with an idea for the task, when she is distracted by a background noise. She asks David if what she is hearing is a combine harvester, and then leaves the caravan to check. In a nearby wheat field, there is indeed a combine harvester, and she approaches the driver, asking if she can join him. Linnéa places the task brief directly in the path of the combine harvester, and sits in the passenger’s seat as the combine harvester both shreds the task and covers David with discarded wheat clippings. Linnéa wins the task.
