Attempts

Here's a description of the contestants' attempts. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to add later!

  • Gilmário enlists two members of the crew to dress in red robes and follow him as he approaches Nuno’s caravan, dressed like Darth Vader. His followers set off fireworks when Nuno emerges from the caravan, and Gilmário-Vader poses with his lightsabre for a bit before a third follower emerges from behind the caravan, surprising Nuno with the task. The two followers set off confetti cannons after the task is delivered; however, one of the followers has difficulty setting off their cannon, ending the delivery on an anticlimactic note. Still, Gilmário comes joint second.
  • Jessica plays a repetitive tune on a large harmonica while marching in place, and has the task lowered down on a drone (this takes much longer than she expected, as she can be seen gesturing at the drone). In the studio, Nuno remarks that he had the tune Jessica played in his head for the entire weekend, and that he was going to make it his ringtone. Jessica comes third.
  • Toy approaches Nuno’s caravan with a crew member (Justo) and confetti cannons. However, he has trouble getting the cannon to pop (this causes an uproar of laughter among the contestants in the studio, as the same thing happened in Gilmário’s video, which had recently been shown). The faulty cannon causes Toy to begin arguing with Justo; the situation isn’t helped by presumably the show’s pyrotechnics expert, who does not seem particularly bothered by the fact that Toy’s attempt has failed. Toy and Justo continue to argue about the confetti cannon; this eventually spirals into Toy airing his grievances against the whole show. The entire time, Nuno helplessly watches from the door of his caravan. Toy shoves the task into Nuno’s hands and storms off. Justo then starts arguing with the pyrotechnics expert, while Nuno continues to watch the argument. In the studio, Nuno reveals that at lunch that same day, Toy hugged him and apologised for the argument, and that Toy then apologised to Justo as well. As such, Nuno didn’t fully realise the whole thing was a prank until the studio record. Toy wins the task.
  • Inês enlists students from Toca Rufar, a school that teaches Bombo (traditional Portuguese bass drums). She has them drum a traditional percussive beat (she also joins in at points), and she screams at Nuno through a megaphone to come out. Inês has hidden the task on one of the students, and has Nuno play a game of hot or cold to find it. Inês continually addresses him through the megaphone to give him hints, even though he is standing right next to her. Inês comes joint second.
  • António’s delivery is a spectacular failure. He folds the task up into a paper airplane and stands on the balcony of the house closest to the caravan. He throws the airplane, expecting it to reach Nuno, but instead it falls almost directly downwards, landing on the ground just in front of the balcony. António earns last place.
