Task brief

The task brief is attached to a parasol, which is planted in the ground next to a Stormester-branded circular marker in the garden of the Stormester house. The brief for the task is as follows:

Follow the instructions.

Place the parasol as close to the correct location as possible.

Closest to the correct location wins.

Start on the spot.

Go as far north as the length of one female blue whale.

Then go as far east as the height of seven Bubbers.

Then go as far southwest as the height of Rundetårn.

Then go as far east as the world record in shot put.

Open the parasol and place it in the ground.

You have 10 minutes.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

  • Bubber (real name, Neils Christian Meyer) is a very well-known Danish children’s television host. He is 1.73m (5’8”) tall.
  • Rundetårn (‘Round Tower’) is a 17th century tower located in Copenhagen. It is noted for its equestrian staircase, a 7.5-turn helical corridor leading to the platform at the top which is 34.8 metres above ground. Heino Hansen ‘made’ this tower during his attempt at the ‘Make the tallest tower’ task, in series 3 of Stormester.
  • The measurement used for the world record in shot put appears to have been the men’s outdoor record, specifically, and would have been either 23.37m or 23.56m, depending on the date of filming (the record changed during the time this series was produced).
  • If Mark had a (faulty) compass to offer the contestants, like in the original task, it is not shown, as apparently no-one asks for one.
