Task briefs

The initial task brief is laid on the doormat of the Taskmaster house. The briefs for the task are as follows:

Complete the fortune trail.

Fastest wins.

Your time starts now.

Attached to the step-ladder:

Walk under the ladder, or put the ladder back in the shed.

On the first plinth:

Find a lucky penny, or put exactly £13 on the lucky plate.

On the second plinth:

Either spill the salt or throw all the salt over your shoulder onto the pasta in the caravan.

On the third plinth:

Either open the umbrella inside the shed or close these five umbrellas.

On the fourth plinth:

Toss five heads on a coin in a row.

Each toss of the coin must be a standard coin toss.

Task notes

  • Set up on the driveway, there are a step-ladder and four plinths, each with their own associated task briefs, and each with a large single letter attached to the front, spelling out the word ‘LUCKY’.
  • The first plinth has a piggy bank full of assorted coins, and a plate, on top of it.
  • The second plinth has a large bag of salt on it.
  • In front of the third plinth, there are five opened umbrellas lying on the ground.
  • The final plinth has a normal penny on top of it.
  • Alex clarifies that the contestants must work from right to left (from their point of view), starting with the ladder.
  • Next to the pot of pasta in the caravan, there is a swear box with a double-headed coin laid on top of it.Inside the shed, there is an overturned plate with a double-headed coin on it, right out in the open, with a large red arrow on the ceiling, drawing attention to it.
  • Directly above the front door of the house, behind the fortune trail, there is a double-sided coin attached to a wax ‘TM’ seal.
  • There is also a double-headed coin inside of the piggy bank.
