Task brief
The task brief is attached using a magnet to a whiteboard on one of the walls of the lab. The brief for the task is as follows:
Stick the heaviest thing to the board using three of the ingredients on the shelves.
Once you’ve chosen your ingredients, you may not change your mind.
Heaviest thing that sticks to the board for at least one minute wins.
You have 12 minutes, and you must choose your thing in the first two minutes.

Task notes
- On the table in the lab, there is a thick wooden chopping board, a digital weighing scale, a large glass bowl, and a pint glass containing a selection of utensils such as mortar trowels, spatulas, fish slices, and spoons.
- On the wall opposite the whiteboard, there is a set of metal shelving, holding a variety of items that the contestants may use to help stick their selected object to the whiteboard, including: red jelly, baking soda, honey, adhesive velcro strips (but only the hook side of the velcro), a caulk gun containing white silicone caulk, a bowl full of chewing gum, drawing pins, a bowl of flour, a bowl of sugar, a bowl of toffees, blue tack, plasters, marmite, sellotape (but only a few inches of it), hair gel, shampoo, water, vinegar, and orange juice.
